Leandro Erlich - The Swimming Pool

Although an older art installation, it is still something to look at and ponder. It kind of screws with your head a little.

Music Pick 0028

Band: The Stevenson Ranch Davidians
Album: Psalms, Hymns, & Spirtual Songs
Sampler: 02-getting-by.mp3

Enjoy this sort of Spiritualized, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club sounding group from Los Angeles… There is a nice psychedelic ease about them… soothing and just spacey enough. Click here to learn more.

Air Powered Car

The Compressed Air Car, developed by Motor Development International (MDI) Founder Guy Negre, might be the best thing to happen to the motor engine, and people all over the world. The $12,700 CityCAT, one of the planned Air Car models, reaches 68 mph, goes for a range of 125 miles. It will take only a few minutes for the CityCAT to refuel at gas stations equipped with custom air compressor units. MDI says it should cost only around $2 to fill the car up with 340 liters of air! The Air Car will be starting production soon, thanks to India’s TATA Motors.

Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession

An excellent documentary covering one of the first cable movie channels. Before Showtime, HBO, Stars and all the rest was Z Channel. Created by a man obsessed with movies, movie stars and movie directors, Z Channel stands out in Hollywood memories as the quintessential movie channel.

War Dance

An incredible story of the human spirit. Against all odds and in the face of intense violence, carried out by the Lords Resistance Army (LRA) in Northern Uganda, a group of people from the Pantongo refugee camp sing and dance their way to towards winning the National Music Competition.

I was so amazed to hear the personal stories of each individual. One little girl described how her mother and father went to work one day in the fields only to see her mother return home later that day alone. In shock, she explained to her child that LRA had found them in the fields and hacked her father to pieces with machetes, while she was made to watch. The LRA then proceeded to have her gather up his parts and burry him. So so so heavy!!!
