This piece is another in a series taken from the Lower East Side in New York. I liked the image of this guy passing along with his cart, he’s not homeless, he’s just toting his work stuff around. The original piece is painted on a vintage newspaper from 1842 called the Star and Palladium. Most of the text is religious in nature and I extracted the phrase “the inner man” for the title. It seems to correspond to this person and the notion of a man living in a big, crowded city and the unknown thoughts within.

This image is of Delancey Street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, near the Williamsburg Bridge. The title is inspired by the appearance of the dilapidated buildings surrounded by scaffolding and construction. It’s also a commentary on New York which is both the wealthy pinnacle of culture and power and at the same time showing signs of decay and age around the fringes during a period of uncertainty in America.

El Sol de Mexico

A new Mexico City image, with colors that are a little different than many of my previous prints. It is in the old, historical center of Mexico City. A taco stand with some guys that were sitting around drinking and playing cards. This is on a spot that is about a block away from the ruins of an Aztec temple.
